Candid At Create CA's Arts Advocacy Day!

We had the incredible opportunity to participate in Create CA's Arts Advocacy Day, a day of learning and advocacy in partnership with California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA). Candid worked with CSSSA students to create art for our first journal through a fun "speed-run art making challenge" and connected students to further opportunities in the arts!

Artist Development Workshop #1: HEIDI BASCH-HAROD

For our first workshop, we spoke with Heidi Basch-Harod who is the Executive Director of Women’s Voices Now (WVN), a non-profit organization that uses film to advance girls’ and women’s rights globally. After discussing the power of film as a means of advocacy as well as hearing advice on how to get started in advocacy, students walked away with opportunities to get involved in and an action plan to make change!
